GLP-1 coaching at Julie Salter Fitness pairs your medication with the nutrition, strength training, and daily habit support it doesn't include on its own. You get custom macros, a strength plan built to protect muscle, and ongoing coaching through the 4B Approach. Medical and peptide support is offered through a licensed medical team, but it's never where you start.

Julie Salter Fitness has worked with more than 470 women and helped them lose a combined total of over 1,257 pounds together, using the same coaching approach behind this page.

Who Is GLP-1 Coaching Built For?

GLP-1 coaching is built for women who are currently taking a GLP-1 medication such as semaglutide or tirzepatide, sold under brand names like Ozempic, Wegovy, or Zepbound, or a compounded peptide. It is also built for women who are seriously considering one of those options and want to know what goes with it.

It is not built only for people who already have a prescription in hand. If you are still deciding, coaching and the medical side can both help you sort that out, starting with a conversation, not a commitment.

Why Isn't the Medication Alone Enough?

A GLP-1 medication does one job very well. It quiets your appetite and slows digestion, so eating less stops feeling like a fight.

That drop in body weight is not only fat, though. Research reviewed through the National Institutes of Health's National Center for Biotechnology Information (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC12842597) has found that lean body mass, which includes muscle, can account for roughly a quarter to close to forty percent of total weight lost on a GLP-1 medication, depending on the specific drug and study. Some of what the scale shows you is muscle you worked years to build.

The same body of research points straight at the fix. A review of GLP-1 therapy published through NIH's NCBI (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC12661421) recommends pairing the medication with protein intake above 1.2 grams per kilogram of body weight per day, spread across meals, along with structured resistance training, to protect lean mass. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends muscle-strengthening activity for every major muscle group at least two days a week (cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/mm7118a6.htm), for exactly this reason.

Your medication changes your appetite. It does not build your strength plan, plan your protein, or talk you through a hard week. That is the part coaching adds.

What's Actually Included in GLP-1 Coaching, Day to Day?

Coaching starts with your real life, not a generic plan. You get custom macros built around food you will actually eat, not a list of rules to white-knuckle through.

You also get a strength plan designed to protect the muscle a GLP-1 medication can take from you, built to fit whatever equipment and time you actually have. On top of that, you get ongoing coaching, so the plan adjusts as your dose, your appetite, or your life changes.

Medical and peptide support sits alongside this, offered through a licensed medical team when it's needed. It is never required, and it is not where anyone starts.

How Does the 4B Approach Apply If You're on GLP-1 Medication?

I built the 4B Approach because a medication can change your appetite, but it cannot change what your body is doing underneath that, what skills you have, who you are on a hard day, or how much room your real life leaves for a plan.

Biology: Your GLP-1 medication is one input into a body that is also dealing with hormones, thyroid function, sleep, and digestion. Coaching looks at the rest of that picture instead of assuming the medication is doing all the work.

Behavior: Appetite suppression buys you a window. Coaching uses that window to teach you the food and training skills that still work once the prescription changes or ends.

Belief: Some days the medication makes healthy choices feel automatic. Other days, nausea, a dose change, or plain life gets in the way. Belief is what carries you through the second kind of day.

Bandwidth: Your plan has to survive your actual week, including the ones with a sick kid, a work trip, or a rough side effect day. Coaching is built for the life you are living, not a quieter one.

Does Coaching Replace My Doctor or Prescriber?

No. Coaching supports your habits, your nutrition, your training, and your planning around the medication.

Coaching does not diagnose, prescribe, choose your dose, change your medication, direct a taper, or interpret your personal labs. Any peptide or metabolic medical support offered alongside coaching runs through a licensed medical team, separately from your coach.

What Happens After You Stop Taking the Medication?

This is where coaching matters most, because the medication's effect on your appetite ends when you stop taking it, but the skills, the strength, and the habits you built do not.

If you have spent your time on the medication building a real strength practice and learning to eat in a way you can sustain, that groundwork carries you into the next phase. If you have only relied on appetite suppression, the transition is harder. Coaching is built to make sure it's the first kind of ending, not the second.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to already be on a GLP-1 medication to start coaching?
No. Coaching supports women who are currently on a GLP-1 medication and women who are seriously considering one. A free assessment can help you figure out which situation you're in and what makes sense next.

Is peptide or metabolic medical support required as part of coaching?
No. It's offered through a licensed medical team, it's never required, and it's not where anyone starts.

Does coaching help me qualify for or afford GLP-1 medication?
Coaching does not determine medication eligibility, handle prescriptions, or guarantee insurance, HSA, or FSA reimbursement. That's between you and your medical team. What coaching adds is the nutrition, strength, and habit support around whatever your medical team decides.

Will coaching tell me what dose to take or when to stop?
No. Dosing, tapering, and any medication changes stay with your prescriber. Coaching supports the habits, training, and nutrition around that decision, not the decision itself.
